National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The NDIS is a new way of supporting Australians under the age of 65 with a permanent and significant disability. This will help ensure that people with disability are able to get access to the reasonable and necessary supports they need for them to achieve personal goals that are meaningful to them.

Where does physiotherapy fit in… and what should you do?
Stepping Forward Therapy Services are approved providers of physiotherapy under the NDIS – Core Supports/Therapeutic Supports/Early Childhood Intervention. If you are already have an NDIS plan, and would like to access our services, you will need to have this category included in your plan to access any therapy.
If you don’t yet have a plan, talk to your key worker (or the medical professional who has the most contact with your child) and refer to our NDIS planning process to help you prepare for your planning meeting. The NDIS rolled out in Eastern Metropolitan Melbourne in November, 2017. If you believe you are outside this area, please contact the NDIS to find out when roll out is planned in your region.
If you currently have a plan which includes physiotherapy, the next step is to arrange an assessment with one of our physiotherapists. A therapy plan will discussed with you during your first meeting to determine how we can help you work towards your plan goals. If your plan is NDIA managed, a service agreement will need to be set up in order to access your funding.
